The papal apartment is closed off with a crimson ribbon and sealed with a papal wax seal
Chronology
When Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with leading one of the world’s most secret and ancient events, the selection of a new Pope, he finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the very foundations of the Catholic Church. Many of the actions that Cardinal Lawrence and the rest of the cardinals take during the film’s conclave process are true and accurate to the Catholic faith and centuries of tradition. After the Pope dies, his ring (called the Fisherman’s Ring) is removed and destroyed; this is to prevent it from being used to forge the Pope’s seal on documents. The Vatican makes an official announcement that the throne of the Holy See (the governing body of the Catholic Church) is vacant. The College of Cardinals is sequestered in apartments (the Domus Sanctae Marthae, the House of Saint Martha) to eat and sleep between votes.
It is claimed that Ayendi would be the first African pope
Finally, the windows and doors of the Sistine Chapel, where the current election takes place and votes are cast, are blacked out, closed and locked to maintain the secrecy of the conclave. Also on display are some of the more recent security measures adopted in real life: when the conclave that elected Pope Francis I met in 2013, the Sistine Chapel was searched for hidden microphones and other electronic listening devices, ID cards were issued to all conclave servants because a reporter was discovered disguised as a servant during the conclave that elected Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, all members of the College of Cardinals were required to hand over their mobile phones and other electronic devices, Vatican City’s Wi-Fi network was temporarily shut down and wireless signal jammers were installed in the Sistine Chapel. The Roman Catholic Church has had three African Popes: Victor I (189-199 AD), Miltiades (aka Melchiades, 311-314 AD), and Gelasius I (492-496 AD). Lawrence: Our faith is a living thing precisely because it walks hand in hand with doubt. If there were only certainty and no doubt, there would be no mystery.

And therefore, there would be no need for faith. Let us pray that God will grant us a Pope who doubts. And that He will grant us a Pope who sins and asks for forgiveness and moves on. To be short and sweet, there are many positive things to say about Conclave.
The film is nicely paced
Good script brought to life by a cast of great actors. It is well shot and framed. The costume design and overall color palette are visually pleasing. The only negative I can think of in the early stages of the film is the soundtrack. Soundtracks of this style (IMHO) were never very good in the beginning, but by this point they are tired, overused and, frankly, monotonous.
He is a clumsy guy and not at all intelligent
There is a point where the film takes a complete turn in the final act and becomes absurd and pointless. A real shame, because up until this point it is plausible and believable. It ends up leaving a bad taste in your mouth, as it gives the impression that there is a specific Hollywood agenda being pushed here. And this review is written by someone who would consider themselves to have fairly liberal views in general. But the ending of this film is presumptuous and subversive in the most ungainly way.
